June Highlights: What We're Reading, Listening To, Making & Where We're Going
From page-turning reads and feel-good shows to sweet treats and sunny adventures, our team is diving into all the things that make summer shine. Here’s what we’re loving this month — let it inspire your next great read, recipe, or getaway!
- What We're Reading
Book of the Month: The Maid by Nita Prose - "I purchased the Maid at WE CAN's Annual Words, Wit and Wisdom event on June 5th as my first beach book of the Summer. This charming and quirky novel is about a socially awkward but endearing hotel maid who finds herself in the middle of a murder investigation when a wealthy hotel guest is found dead. Equal parts heartwarming and suspenseful, The Maid is a story about perception, justice, and the hidden strengths within the underestimated. This wonderful novel can be purchased locally at Titcomb's Book Shop or online by clicking here."

2. What We're Watching
Show of the Month: Shrinking on Apple TV - "Shrinking is a comedy-drama about a grieving therapist and his unconventional methods with surprising and often hilarious consequences. With heartfelt themes of loss, healing, and connection, this series blends sharp humor with emotional depth. A must watch!"
- Heather Lynch, Financial Advisor
3. What We're Making
Recipe of the Month: Oreo Truffles - "A Sweet and Simple Treat - These no-bake treats combine the classic flavor of Oreo cookies with rich cream cheese and a decadent chocolate coating. They can be customized to match any event with different colored chocolate or toppings! One of my favorite hobbies is baking and I have been making this office favorite for my family and friends for many years. These easy Oreo truffles are a crowd-pleaser and a perfect way to satisfy your sweet tooth. Enjoy!"
- Jayme Rose Franklin, Client Service Associate
4. What We're Going
Destination of the Month: New Orleans - "Over Memorial Day weekend, Erik and I traveled to New Orleans for a wedding. As someone who loves to try new cuisine and enjoys spice, the food alone was worth the visit! We indulged in gumbo, walked along the Mississippi, and enjoyed 103-degree weather by the pool. One of the highlights of the weekend was participating in a traditional second-line parade as part of the wedding celebration. The second line is a quintessential New Orleans tradition, where a brass band leads the wedding party and guests in a lively street procession, complete with dancing, waving handkerchiefs, and pure joy. It was such a fun, spirited way to celebrate love, New Orleans style! "
- Kelli Grew, Managing Partner
5. What We're Doing
Activity of the Month: Fishing in Nantucket Shoals - "I have been taking advantage of the nice weather lately, trying to get out on the water as much as I can! The fishing has been great, below is a picture from a recent trip to the Nantucket Shoals. It was a long day out on the water, having to trek 50 miles from Falmouth, but it was well worth it for a cooler full of fluke! That night I grilled the filets and paired them with some rice and vegetables for a delicious meal. Looking forward to more days like this."
