What began as a grassroots effort from a group of concerned parents & community members in 2010 has now become an innovative, one-of-a-kind non-profit organization that has operated in 28 schools and more than a dozen community-based organizations across Cape Cod. In eight short years, Calmer Choice has become a thought leader in the area of secular mindfulness in education and is increasingly viewed as a catalyst for creating positive change in school climates. We have impacted more than 38,500+ children in eight school districts, reaching approximately 20% of all students and families living on Cape Cod.
The Cape Cod Foundation is a community foundation. It exists for one single reason: to strengthen and enrich our community. We do this by building resources and then investing those resources back into the community. Where they belong. Where they’ll do the most good. For now. For the future. We help other people create charitable funds that, when pooled and invested wisely, generate revenue for scholarships to local students and grants to nonprofit organizations. Just like our donors, we build, invest, and use our discretionary funds to bring additional resources to the community: more scholarships and grants, plus a variety of other initiatives with broad regional impact.
The Falmouth Service Center mission is to ease stress, reduce hunger and improve the quality of life for our neighbors in need. The Falmouth Service Center (FSC) works to increase self-sufficiency by helping to build networks among clients, neighbors and agencies.
Uniting people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer and questioning (LGBTQ+) with families, friends, and allies, PFLAG is the nation's largest organization of its kind committed to advancing equality through its mission of support, education, and advocacy.
CARE for the Cape & Islands™ was founded in 2012 as the Cape and Islands’ first travelers' philanthropy initiative. More commonly known today as Impact Travel, CARE seeks to encourage, support, and create opportunities for visitors and residents to donate their “time, talent, and treasure” to help preserve and protect our region’s exquisite natural beauty, plant and wildlife habitats, Cape & Islands culture and history.
Membership in Kiwanis connects a person with the community and other like-minded individuals. Club members learn about developments and happenings in our local Cape Cod area from program speakers and interactions at regular weekly club meetings. Together, we combine our interests and skills to improve the community in ways that make a real impact on the lives of others, particularly children on Cape Cod and throughout New England.
