BFPCC Team Year in Review

January 28th, 2020 I hope you are enjoying the start to the New Year and New Decade. I pause in gratitude to reflect on this past decade and want to share some exciting news with you for what's ahead. When I purchased Beacon Financial Planning of Cape Cod, Inc in June of 2015 we had a staff of 2 people and we were managing around $90 Million of assets. Today we are a team of 5 and manage around $180 Million of assets. Katie Brennan Kane has been with Beacon since 2014 and has proven herself a reliable asset and advocate for our clients. After three years with Beacon, she became the Operations Manager. It's a real pleasure to watch her grow and take on new initiatives. Katie passed the Series 65 exam in 2019 and is now a member of our Investment Committee. This year, she began the course work to pursue the Certified Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and I could not be prouder. Melissa (Ellis) Kolcz joined our team in January of 2019 and just celebrated her one-year anniversary at Beacon. She and I met through the Cape Cod Young Professionals (CCYP) and I have followed her career ever since. I saw how organized she is and her dedication to getting the job done with a personal touch and knew I wanted her on our team. Melissa was originally hired as an Administrative Assistant but has picked up on things so quickly that she has moved into more of a Client Service Representative role. Kelli Grew, CFP was recruited to our team in April 2019. She brings 9 years of industry experience and a true passion for helping client's best position themselves for success. Kelli has been instrumental in introducing our new financial planning software, eMoney, to clients and training our team on the software. Before joining the team at Beacon, Kelli worked at a CPA firm that had an Estate Planning and Wealth Management division within the firm. A wonderful addition, Kelli is helping with existing clients as well as taking on all new referrals. Kelli and her family welcomed their 3rd child on Christmas Eve; a beautiful baby girl- Kennedy. Kelli is enjoying a few months with the new baby and will return from maternity leave on March 16th. Alina Leon joined our team just this month. We recruited her from her Manager position at a Credit Union. She has completed 3 of the 7 CFP courses through Boston University and we are excited for Alina to handle the front desk and Administrative Assistant role as she learns more about the industry.
