Beyond the Portfolio - Health is Wealth

Melissa Kolcz |

Just like your financial well-being, your physical and mental health are essential to a fulfilling life. This month, we’re highlighting the powerful connection between financial planning and personal wellness — because true wealth means feeling secure, balanced, and healthy in every aspect of life. Let’s plan for a future that supports all of you. Last month, our team celebrated 'Health is Wealth' with team activities - from staying active to practicing mindfulness and embracing small, healthy habits to support a balanced life.

Fuel Your Wealth with Healthy Choices
Eating well doesn’t have to be complicated! Small changes can make a big difference. Try simple swaps like whole grains over refined carbs, add a serving of veggies to every meal, and stay hydrated throughout the day. Meal prepping, reading labels, and choosing colorful, whole foods can help you stay on track. A healthy body supports a healthy mind — and a strong financial future!

Move More, Live Better

Staying active is a key part of overall wellness — and it doesn’t have to be time-consuming or intense. Start with just 20–30 minutes a day: take a brisk walk, try a short workout video, or stretch between meetings. Mix it up to stay motivated — whether it’s dancing, biking, or yoga. Consistency is more important than perfection, and every bit of movement adds up to better energy, focus, and long-term health! It has certainly been beneficial that our new office location is right next door to Fitness 500!

Prioritize You: Self-Care Matters

Self-care isn’t selfish — it’s essential. Taking time to recharge helps you stay focused, resilient, and balanced. Simple self-care tips: get enough sleep, set boundaries, take short breaks throughout your day, and do something you enjoy daily — even if it’s just 10 minutes. Whether it’s journaling, meditating, or unplugging from screens, small moments of care can make a big impact on your overall well-being. The Beacon Team had a wonderful spa day last month at Chatham Bars Inn where we were able to relax, unwind and reset.

How to age-proof your most valuable asset

Keep your mind sharp and your memory strong! Don’t miss our Retain Your Brain seminar on September 15th, where we’ll explore practical tips and strategies to support cognitive health as you age. From brain-boosting habits to lifestyle changes that matter, this engaging session is designed to help you stay mentally fit for years to come. The costs of an unhealthy brain can be significant. Financial Advisor, Heather Lynch, will discuss Medicare/Medicaid, long term care and memory care expenses. Attendance is free; however due to high demand and limited space, registration is required. We encourage you to share this with friends and family who may be interested so that they can register as well.
